Our Lutheran Church

Good Shepherd is a member congregation of the East District of Lutheran Church-Canada (LCC), a synod of confessing Lutheran pastors and congregations bound together by our common teaching, believing, and confessing of the historic Lutheran confession of the Christian Faith (here is a brief summary). This is by no means merely a local or even a national confession, but this faith is held and proclaimed together with other Lutheran church bodies worldwide, among which is our parent church, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). This means that you will find the confession of faith of all our sister churches to be the same as ours - the truth of God does not change! "If you abide in My Word," Jesus says, "you are truly My disciples, and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32). Our current pastor's name is the Rev. David Milette.
 
The Fredericton Preaching Station of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church began in October, 2000, to extend the service begun in Moncton also to Lutherans in the Capital region and to create an opportunity there also for many to come to know the Saviour for sinners through His living and active Word. You are invited to join us for weekly Divine Services as well as Bible Classes and other activities, as God serves us through His Word and Sacraments, and brings forth good fruit pleasing to Him and for our neighbour's lasting good! "Now those who were scattered went about preaching the Word" (Acts 8:4).
 
Faith Lutheran Church (previously Nova Scotia Lutheran Outreach - NSLO) grew out of a preaching station under Good Shepherd's pastoral care, and was finally established at the comissioning of Rev. David Maffett as Missionary-at-Large from LC-C to the Maritime Provinces in June 2000. Though far-reaching, the mission of Faith Lutheran Church now centers around a small worshipping congregation in Dartmouth, NS.
